The work schedule for this position is:

Working under the direction of the Information Systems Officer (ISO), the position is based in the Information Systems Center (ISC), and in collaboration with the Information Management Officer (IMO), the Media and Technology Assistant works to control, maintain, and operate high value digital and electronic equipment; help manage the Embassy Maputo website and provide support for social media platforms; provide systems use and configuration documentation support to the IRM section; and suggest, develop, and carry out innovative media engagement strategies to promote U.S. government goals and objectives to a variety of Mozambican audiences and Mission member.

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE: At least four years of practical multi-media/audio visual work experience in marketing, public relations, on-line media, web management, digital editing, information technologies, audiovisual technologies, graphic design, digital media is required. Experience includes programming bulliten boards, working with head-end equipment, programing AV systems to deliver multiple windows of streaming content to multiple monitors.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must have working proficiency in audiovisual and digital media equipment, presentation and use. A detailed knowledge of and interest in broadcast and emerging media, including on-line and digital media. Must have well developed computer and equipment skills.

Education Requirements:

Two (2) years of University studies is required.

LANGUAGE: English level - Good Working Knowledge - Written/Speaking/Reading is required. This may be tested.

                 Portuguese level - Fluent - Written/Speaking/Reading is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work productively on many different projects and activities at the same time, under tight deadlines. Must have the ability to work independently and/or collaboratively on complex projects while keeping managers and appropriate officers informed of progress and developments. Must possess excellent interpersonal & customer relations and communications skills and be able to work with a broad range and size of public audiences and Mission members. Must be proactive in recognizing audio-visual problems, deficiencies or need. Keyboard and data entry skills is required. Must be able to use Microsoft Suites; and proprietary software such as Crestron Fusion.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
