The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Supports in planning, developing, administering and tracking Mission programs on the extensive and increasing agenda  of bilateral academic affairs. Regularly participates in identifying target audiences and programs, has independent responsibility to carry out program-related administrative negotiations. The position demands considerable knowledge of higher education structures and academic institutions in the U.S. and Mexico.

Independently carries out the administrative details involved in academic exchange programs and in negotiating/monitoring academic grants; collaborates actively with Education USA partners to identify target audiences and Mexican candidates for programs, under the supervision of the SCAS. Manages all the complex logistics related to post-initiated academic tours and programs.

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a multinational educational or cultural work environment is required, with education, communication, marketing and public outreach duties as significant parts of the job.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, American Studies, International Relations, Communications, or equivalent (Licenciatura) is required.



Fluent Spanish and English are required.

A) To meet the English language requirement for this position, you must submit either:

  • English test results that are less than 2 years old from TOEIC (Listening & Reading) or TOEFL (ITP or IBT). Fluent scores are: TOEIC 850pts, TOEFL ITP 620pts, IBT 106. B) To meet the Spanish language requirement for this position, you must submit either:

Non-EFMs will be responsible for test fee. Spanish testing results that are less than 2 years old from Berlitz (Only Listening & Reading is required).   • Alternatively, you may present one of the following earned in a Spanish Speaking Country: University Transcripts, Bachelor’s Degree, Master's Degree, or higher.

All Internal applicants who apply for a new position with the same English/Spanish language requirements as their current job do no need to retest. However, if the new position requires a higher English/Spanish level than the currently occupied position, then a new language test certificate is required.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Mexico may receive a compensation package that includes:
