The work schedule for this position is:

Start date: Candidates must be scheduled to arrive within 180 days of the closing of the vacancy announcement and must be able to begin working within four weeks of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Perform Administrative and special, long-term/short-term projects for various Mission Agencies and Offices. Special projects may include review, amendment and renovation of: the welcome/orientation process to ensure successful acclimation to post, embassy duty officer book, housing profile, Summer Hire Program, VIP visit coordination, etc. Working hours will be flexible, dependent upon the project.

Assignments will be made on a rotational basis. The incumbent will be placed on a register and based on their clearance status, background and qualifications will perform a variety of tasks on an as needed basis for any Embassy section as assigned by the Human Resources Officer. Position reports to the EFM HR Assistant/Professional Associate. Percentage of time dedicated to each specific function may vary depending on the particular assignment. Projects will include administrative coverage and special projects. Special Project Admin Assistants are required to provide coverage in CAA space. A WAE schedule has no pre-set hours and is called to work an intermittent/as needed basis.  Incumbent must be able to obtain and hold Secret Security Clearance. 

*Note: Although the nature of WAE work is flexible, incumbents must remain open to both full and part-time hours, short and long-term assignments, and a wide variety of Embassy sections and projects. Incumbents must be willing to work throughout the year, to include weekends, holidays and summer months. WAE employees must accept at least 70% of the offered assignments or they will be released from the WAE pool.

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  Minimum two years of previous administrative or office customer service experience is required. 

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma is required.


LANGUAGE: Fluent English (spoken and written) is required. This may be tested.
