The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent performs full range of skilled work for masonry construction, maintenance and repairs at U.S. Government Owned and Leased facilities. The incumbent performs master craftsman level functions related to all types of bricklaying, concrete block-work, reinforced concreting, stonework, and surface finishes such as: tiling, sand-cement plaster, gypsum plaster, pavers, etc.

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  Two years of journeyman masonry experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  The ability to understand and follow written instructions is required. Ability to read construction drawings. Must know how to protect a building from humidity or water ingress, know about thermal insulation, know about the science of construction material.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school as well as vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman masonry or equivalent experience is required.

Valid Class B driver's license.


LANGUAGE:  English level II (Limited knowledge) Written/Speaking/Reading is required. May be tested.
French level III (Good knowledge) Written/Speaking/Reading is required. May be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  The ability to use a variety of tools of the trade is required. Experience of powered tools such as pneumatic hammers and concrete sprayers is required. Physical ability to work outdoors in hot and humid environment is required. This position work involves heavy lifting (about 50 kg) and ability to work at an elevated height, minimum 10 feet high. Local motor vehicle driver's license is required.

Agency Benefits:

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
