Duties

Basic Function of the Position: The incumbent is responsible for proving security for the Chief of Mission and all other official Americans at Post.  S/he is required to employ offensive and defensive driving techniques while providing mobile security. The incumbent must also make contact with law enforcement personnel under the guidance of the PD Supervisor and the RSO/ARSO.  Interprets for American personnel at the airport and other border crossing. 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in guard or guard-related duties and/or protective details is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be familiar with procedures and techniques employed for VIP protection. Must be also familiar with offensive and defensive driving techniques.


 

Education Requirements:

Education: Completion of Secondary School is required. A valid Driver' s license is required. 


 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level III (good working knowledge) written and spoken English is required. This will be tested. Level III (good working knowledge) Albanian is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: A valid Driver' s license is required. This will be tested. Must be qualified and skilled in the use of firearms in accordance with DS standards. Must be able to work independently and adapt to changing circumstances without requesting guidance.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Tirana, Albania, may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
