Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Sao Paulo is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Residential Security Alarm Technician in the Regional Security Office (RSO).

Duties

Basic Function of the Position – Incumbent installs, removes, and repairs post’s residential alarm systems, doors, locks, and security lighting. The incumbent reports directly to the Residential Security Coordinator (RSC) and has no supervisory responsibility.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Experience on residential alarm installation including operation, maintenance, and repair functions is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Skilled knowledge of installation, operation, maintenance and repair of alarm systems and relevant knowledge associated with work as a locksmith. Incumbent must understand Diplomatic Security (DS) approved systems and the requirements and/or benefits for the type of system used (i.e. wired or wireless system for use in an apartment or single family dwelling). 

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school required. 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:   (This may be tested)


                    Level III (good working knowledge) in speaking/reading/writing in Portuguese is required.
                    Level III (good working knowledge) in speaking/reading/writing in English is required
                    


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  (This may be tested)


Skilled electrician and craftsman whose installations make minor impact on the appearance of a residence. Must have a valid driver’s license category B. Ability to use all  tools for locksmith and residential alarm work. Basic computer skills required.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Sao Paulo may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
