Summary:

The work schedule for this position is:



  • Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Position holder works as a team laborer. Performs hands-on, manual tasks in the General Services Office (GSO) Warehouse Non-Expendably Property section. Moves and lifts furniture, appliances and other supplies from one place to another and cleans the warehouse. Cleans and arranges proper storage of residential furniture and appliances. Supervisor is the Assistant Supply Supervisor.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  One year of warehouse or logistics experience required. Must have held a driver's license for 5 years.


JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must understand basic logistics skills such as loading and unloading trucks for deliveries, must understand how long such deliveries might take. Must have good working knowledge of the city and environs, including driving routes and traffic patterns.

Education Requirements:

Completion of primary school required.

LANGUAGE:


Basic Knowledge of English – Able to use greetings, ask simple questions and give simple directions.  Can form basic sentences and express basic thoughts.

Limited Knowledge of French– Reasonable confident in speaking French and able to handle social situations and casual conversation and limited work requirements. Able to write simple texts and fill out forms.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to demonstrate customer service skills. Must have Malian Class B and C license.
Must have Fork Lift certificate. Must be able to take direction from supervisors. Must be able to perform daily vehicle inspections. Must have ability to read road maps and plan routes.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Bamako/Mali may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
