Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Brasilia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Surveillance Detection Supervisor in the Regional Security Office (RSO).


The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Duties

Job holder conducts Surveillance Detection (SD) operations as a member of a tactical team of SD personnel.  This includes daily operational work guidance for six (6) members of the SD Unit (SDU).  Job holder is accountable for operational SD equipment assigned to the SDU.  Job holder directly reports to the SD Coordinator.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Military, police, or private experience in the field of security is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of surveillance techniques.  Familiarity with local pedestrian and vehicular traffic patterns and habits, experience in the preparation of reports and schedules, awareness of cultural norms and customs is required.

Education Requirements:

Completion of high school is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: (This may be tested)


Level II (Limited knowledge) in Reading/Writing/Speaking English is required.


Level III (Good working knowledge) in Writing/Reading/Speaking Portuguese is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  (This may be tested)


Must possess a valid basic driver's license category B. Must be skilled in the use of communications equipment, cameras, and basic information technology systems. Must provide detailed oral reports.   Must work independently and adapt to a wide range of threat and environmental conditions. Must have good observation skills.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Brasilia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
