The U.S. Mission in Riyadh, KSA is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Secretary for the PAS Section. This position is open for nationals and residents of Saudi Arabia only. The applicant should hold a valid national ID or iqama.                                                 

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (04 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Under the supervision of the Cultural Afairs Officer (CAO) or the ACAO in the CAO's absence, this position helps to organize, plan, and implement the Mission's public affairs programming and grants.  The position also provides logisitical support for the section's staff and visiting guests. Draft and translate Dip notes; follow up with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or relevant government Ministry. Serves as backup for the PAO OMS, including his/her Time & Attendance responsibilities; Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years experience in secretarial or office management position.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Needs extensive knowledge of Saudi government and NGOs including structures, people, etc.

Education Requirements:

Completion of High School


LANGUAGE:  English and Arabic level IV (Fluent; read/write/speak). This will be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and computer skills. Skilled in note-taking and translation.    Ability to think critically, problem solve, and cultural interpretation helpful.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
