Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Trades Helper for the Facility Management Office. This position is open for nationals and residents of Saudi Arabia only. The applicant should hold a valid national ID or Iqama.


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Employee assists skilled tradesmen in the performance of their duties in government-owned and leased residential and non-residential properties. The incumbent assists with any maintenance projects including repairs, renovations, painting, carpentry, welding, and masonry. Assists the electrical technicians, plumbing technicians, and HVAC technicians in maintenance, installation, and repair of all types of equipment and systems.


 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Two years' experience as a trades helper, or in any relevant trade, including maintenance work or construction work is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, and other trades practices and procedures.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: English level II (limited knowledge;read/write/speak) is required. 


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must possess general mechanical and trades skill. Must be able to use proper tools and techniques. Must have valid driver's license, lift/carry 50lbs unassisted, and use ladders/scaffold/or lifts.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
