Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Kabul is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for position of Information Management Assistant (Team Lead) FSN-09 with the Information Resources Management (IRM)

Duties

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:


Operates State's Local Area Network (LAN) and all other information technology (IT) systems equipment serviced by ISC under the supervision of the Assistant Information Systems Officer. This includes end-user support, Mobile device support, Application support, installing and configuring computer equipment and software, troubleshooting computer problems, performing system backups and restores monitoring system availability and performance, end-user training. Ensure that the LAN responds to specific program needs of State/Program offices. Incumbent is responsible for keeping operational the OpenNet SBU network and all related components.


 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: 3 years of progressively responsible experience in computer systems administration with one year of supervisory experience.



JOB KNOWLEDGE:


Must possess a functional knowledge of the IT requirements and information processed by departments in the Mission. Accurate   knowledge of the standard operations and software applications. Technical knowledge of standard IT procedures. Have worked in large-sized LAN operations.  






 

Education Requirements:

University degree with an information technology certificate: Microsoft A+, MCP, MCSA, CCNA, or CCNP is required.


 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level III English (good working knowledge) - Level 4 Dari is required.



This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to analyze IT problems and follow established procedures and routines. Good interpersonal skills to promote computer and automation services. Maintain quality customer service guidelines for ISC staff.






Qualifications:
All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications and complete a mandatory probationary period for LE Staff.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:

1. The Mission may consider any of the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.

2. Current OR employees having served less than one (1) year in their current position are not eligible to apply. In addition, current OR employees, regardless of agency or section, who have received job-specific training away from Post at U.S. Government expense may not be considered for any other position within the Mission for six months from the completion date of the training. Current employees of the Mission who have not successfully completed their initial probationary periods are not eligible to apply. Current employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory or MBC score of 100 points or less, on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.

3. Current employees of the Mission hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment. This does not apply for employees on a PSA (Temp), or those are hired on a When Actually Employed (WAE) or intermittent work schedule.

4. Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.
