The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Data Clerk.

The incumbent is primarily responsible for documenting property transactions of non-expendable supply, totaling approximately $8M USD.  Incumbent works with the Warehouse Manager to schedule work orders and communicate with customers.  Incumbent works closely with Warehouse Team Leaders and Facilities Team Members to capture every movement of non-expendable supply from one location to another. Incumbent is charged with managing upkeep of the warehouse facility by generating and following up on work orders with the Facilities Maintenance Team, coordinating waste removal, and arranging for vendor repairs to the warehouse and its components. 

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE: Two years’ experience in recordkeeping or similar clerical work is required.  One year (can be simultaneous) of logistics management, project management, or warehousing also required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Detailed knowledge of property management functions, recordkeeping/report analysis, supply, and warehousing instructions and procedures as found in 14 FAM and FAH.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school (through grade 12) or host country equivalent is required.



Level 3 (speaking/writing) English and Level 3 (speaking) Portuguese is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Level II Typing (40 wpm) is required. Record maintenance experience is required. Basic math skills are required for appropriate conversion of weights and measures. Must have familiarity with automated systems applications such as word-processing, internet, and e-mail applications. Must be able to develop strong working knowledge of USG regulations as found in the FAM and FAH, and automated systems such as WebPass and ILMS. Must be able to organize own work effectively without frequent, direct supervision. Must be able to communicate effectively to contemporaries, and superiors to explain processes, systems, and reports, and to make recommendations on improvements of processes or expenditures. Must have strong attention to detail, and have strong organizational and analytical skills.
