Duties

Basic Function of the Position – The incumbent of this position under the direction of Computer Management Specialist manages accountable unclassified Information System Center (ISC) Information, Technology (IT) equipment inventory using the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS). S/he manages and tracks Embassy OpenNet and Dedicated Internet network (DIN) IT equipment and licensed software. Manages, monitors, and maintains IT inventory levels and submits purchase orders as needed for Embassy Islamabad for OpenNet and DIN. Coordinates with General Services Office (GSO) through equipment life cycle from purchase to receiving to controlling inventory to retirement and final disposition. Incumbent will also works as network administrator, software developer and customer support.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Minimum three years of office clerical experience is required. 


JOB KNOWLEDGE: The incumbent must be able to gain the knowledge of Department of State and post rules and regulations. Must be able to gain knowledge of 5FAM/FAH, 14FAM/FAH. Must have general knowledge of office operations and technology. S/he must possess excellent knowledge of filing and record keeping procedures, as well as excellent organizational skills. 

Education Requirements:

Completion of higher secondary school (twelve years of education) is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level III (good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English and Level IV (fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Urdu are required. English language skills will be tested.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Incumbent of the position must have ability to type and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email. S/he should be familiar with standard desktop computing equipment.  Must have ability to learn new database applications and good Math skills, enough to perform inventory requirement of this position. Ability to operate common office equipment. Analytical mind with ability to make accurate mathematical computations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. S/he must have competencies in data entry, analysis, and management. Keen attention to detail, ability to effectively manage time, maintain confidentiality and have excellent customer service. Typing speed of 25 WPM is required. A Pakistani valid driver's license for Motor Car/Jeep is required. Applicants must show proof that they have a minimum of five years of licensed driving experience. Technical skills will be tested.

ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:


1. Management may consider any of the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.


2. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.


3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.


4. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold the local security certification.


5. Candidates who are EFMs, USEFMs, AEFMs, or MOHs must have at least one year remaining on their sponsor’s tour of duty to be considered eligible to apply for this position.


6. Current employees who have voluntarily been reassigned/promoted from one position to another are not eligible to apply for six months from the effective date of the reassignment/promotion.


7. Current employees who have received any job-related training are not eligible to apply in another section/agency for six months from the effective date of the training.


8. U.S. Mission Pakistan will not bear any travel expenses for testing, interviews, pre-employment clearances (if selected) or relocation for joining.
