This position is located on site at Silom Community Clinic @ Trop Med and in collaboration with the Silom Community Clinic @ Trop Med study physician.  In cumbent is responsible for plannin, managing, coordinating and executing epidemiologic studies  and clinical research trials for the prevention of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections among men who have sex with mem (MSM) and transgender women (TGW).  these studies form the core of the CDC/DHAP research program in Thailand and include or may include the execution of cohort longitudinal studies of HIV prevalence and incidence in Thai MSM, trials of intermittent versus daily (or continous) antiretroviral pre-and post-exposure prophylaxis for the prevention of HIV infection, investigational new drugs for the treatment of sexually transmitted infections and the rectal/mucosal effects of cross-sex hormone therapy for Thai TGW.  

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  At least 4 years of progressive experience in clinical research and program related with HIV/AIDS or other clinical trials is required.  Plus, one year of supervisory experience. 


  • Incumbent must have a broad perspective and knowledge of the principles and practices of epidemiologic, biomedical, or related scientific research, including facility with research design concepts and basic Qualify Control and Assurance.

  • Familiarity with clinical or epidemiologic aspects of HIV/AIDS prevention and care is necessary.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current HIV/AIDS issues, care and support, counselling and interventions, behavior change, testing, and treatment is required. 

  • Good working knowledge of team management techniques to plan, organize and direct multi-disciplinary project teams and activities is required.

Education Requirements:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in nursing, public health, or health scienve is required.  A valid license in Thailand to practice nursing is required (Please submit license when apply).


LANGUAGE: Please clarify level of your THAI and ENGLISH language skill.  

  • Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English.  A copy of valid TOEIC score at least 600 is required by the closing date (This may be tested).

  • Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing Thai is required. 


  • Standard knowledge of computer software packages including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, graphics and the statistical packages is required.

  • Ability to recognize protocol deviation, to independently compose SOPs and SSPs and Clinical study forms is required.

  • Strong oral and written communications skulls are required to develop and maintain effective, sustainable working relationships with national and international working partners.

  • Strong leadership skills are required to lead result driven project project teams and workgroups. 

  • Strong skills in interpretation of program monitoring and evaluation data are required.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Thailand may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
