Summary:

The U.S. Consulate Sao Paulo is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Worker in the Facilities Section.


The work schedule for this position is:



  • Full Time (40 hours per week)


 


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Responsible for providing semi-skilled maintenance support to all U.S. Government owned and leased buildings and properties by assisting skilled craft journeymen technicians or work independently as assigned. Duties performed include conducting preventative maintenance, repairs, demolition, construction, and rehabilitation work.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          


 


 


 


 


 


 


 

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Prior documented work experience as a trades helper, general construction or maintenance worker, or building systems equipment service technician is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have semi-skilled journeyman knowledge in one or more of the following trades: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, Carpentry, or Masonry.

Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Completion of Primary School is required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: (This may be tested) Good working knowledge in Portuguese is required (reading/writing/speaking). Rudimentary knowledge in English is required (reading/writing/speaking).


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: (This may be tested) Ability to use tools safely. Ability to follow directions regarding assigned tasks. Valid class B local driver's license. Able to lift 25 kg. Ability to work independently.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Sao Paulo-Brazil may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
