The work schedule for this position is:

Duties

The Assistant CLO will be primarily responsible for overseeing the production of the weekly newsletter, development and


updating of the CLO section of the Embassy website, and maintaining the CLO library. The assistant will also help the Community Liaison Office Coordinator with other duties as necessary and will maintain the basic services and functions


of the CLO office during the absence of the CLO. This is a full- time-shared position.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of experience that includes extensive writing or editing, working with the public and customer service.    


JOB KNOWLEDGE: The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of how the mission functions, ability and confidence to meet and talk with a wide variety of people, good computer skills, and an ability to learn quickly.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma is required.


 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Level 4 (Fluency) speaking/reading/writing English is required.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: The successful candidate will have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Publisher. Should know how to do simple manipulation of digital photos and use basic functions in Adobe Acrobat. He or she should be able to use the Internet and the State Intranet to research articles of interest, maintain the CLO web page and assist clients. He or she must have a SECRET or be able to receive one.

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Tunis, Tunisia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

* IMPORTANT:  Applicants who claim status as a preference-eligible U.S. Veteran must submit a copy of their most recent DD-214 (“Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty”), equivalent documentation, or certification.  A “certification” is any written document from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions within 120 days after the certification is submitted by the applicant. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given. 


** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
