The work schedule for this position is:

Serves as the Executive Assistant for the Deputy Senior Commercial Officer (DSCO) and three other Commercial Officers in the FCS Front Office in São Paulo. Incumbent is responsible for the administration of the front office functions that include: scheduling coordination, preparation and editing of documents (sometimes involving translation from English to Portuguese); managing events and activities, handling official mail, as well as program coordination with other USCS Brazil operating units in Brasilia, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Recife. Also supervises two FCS drivers, makes arrangements for large conferences and office visitors (VIPs, HQ staff, etc), and ensures FCS Front Office runs at maximum effectiveness.


















Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE: Experience as an executive bilingual secretary (Portuguese/English) or management administrative experience is required.  

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of management and administrative operations. Must have a sound knowledge of Brazil's social, political, commercial and diplomatic customs, cultures and protocol. Knowledge of U.S. culture and business environment is essential. 

Education Requirements:

Completion of a minimum of 2 years of college or university studies is required.




LANGUAGE:  Level IV (Fluent) in writing/reading/speaking English is required. Level IV (Fluent) in writing/reading/speaking Portuguese is required.  This may be tested.



Ability to communicate professionally with American and Brazilian CEOs, business contacts, and high-level government officials.

Must be comfortable using the Internet for research. Strong logistics and organizational skills. Strong ability to multitask, set priorities and meet deadlines, often under pressure.

Excellent writing skills in both English and Portuguese with close attention to detail, spelling, grammar and appropriate protocol for forms of address. This may be tested. 

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) is essential. This may be tested. 

Excellent communication skills.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil, may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
