The work schedule for this position is:

Basic Function of the Position –  The incumbent reports to the PEPFAR Country Coordinator and is responsible for managing PEPFAR information flow in the office, interagency communications, logistics for meetings and conferences, the PEPFAR calendar, organizing and tracking numerous inter agency assignments and projects. S/he also serves as the lead budget and financial advisor to the PEPFAR Coordinator. This is a senior level administrative support position. Incumbent, along with the interagency finance team, helps prepare the annual funding requests, including sections of the Country Operational Plan including the PEPFAR coordinating Office budget. The incumbent utilizes, maintains and provides administrative and technical support for various budget and programmatic database including FACTS Info (Foreign Assistance Coordination and Tracking System), Expenditure Analysis and 

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  Four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience in budget development, accounting, finance, budget analysis, planning and execution is required. At least two (2) years of this experience must be with U.S. Government agencies.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Knowledge and understanding of professional accounting principles, theories and practices and terminology as well as principles and accepted practices of U.S. Government budgeting and reporting is required. Knowledge of points of contacts and formats for communication with local stakeholders, especially the Government of Nigeria is required.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or Economics is required.

        Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption document is required

LANGUAGE: Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to collect and analyze data and prepare precise and accurate reports is required. Excellent written and communication skills in order to communicate with the PEPFAR inter-agency team and external stakeholders are required. Ability to think critically with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills in order to work efficiently with all the USG PEPFAR agencies is required. Proficiency in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint with keyboarding and numerical skills required. Must have the ability to manage complex budget data including ability to use database management applications to manage increasingly complex budgets.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Abuja, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
