Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Move Coordinator.


The work schedule for this position is:  Full Time (40 hours per week)


Start Date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

The incumbent is responsible for organizing and managing the movement of the diplomatic mission from its currently occupied buildings into the New Embassy Compound (NEC), under the direct supervision of the Management Officer. As the primary point of contact for the mission community on transition related matters, s/he has direct operational oversight of the move itself, liaising with all appropriate agencies, offices, and extra-organizational entities and parties required to ensure all matters related to the move and decommissioning are planned and executed. Following completion of the NEC move, s/he shifts activity to decommissioning.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years previous experience in project or executive management and customer service work in the public or private sector is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: The incumbent must be familiar with the organizational make up of all agencies at post (7). Must become familiar with the physical layout of the NEC, and equipment, appliances, and furnishings. This will include the location for each item, the inventory number, the agency it belongs to/or for which it is intended. Must understand and ensure compliance with a very large amount of government policies and regulations governing the transition. Must be able to work with local contractors.

Education Requirements:

Two years college/university studies required.

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: English level IV (Fluent) Written/Speaking/Reading is required.
The incumbent must have excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate clearly with all members of the Embassy community. This will be tested.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be physically capable of standing for long periods of time, occasional lifting, bending, looking into concealed spaces, and carrying tools necessary to perform the job.
IT Software: Proficient with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point, etc.)
Data Entry: Must be able to enter large amounts of data into Microsoft Project, Excel and databases specific to the job.
