• The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Chauffeur in the General Services Office (GSO)
     - The work schedule for this position is: Full Time - 48 hours per week on shift basis determined by the section supervisor.
• Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Basic Function of the Position

The incumbent operates armored vehicles to include vans and Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), as well as unarmored vehicles.  The incumbent must also be qualified to drive trucks from 2.5 tons up to 20 tons and up to 26 passenger buses.                                                                                                      

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE:  Two years' experience as a chauffeur is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must be familiar with Cairo and the local metropolitan area and have a good knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations. 

Must know common safety practices in regards to vehicle operation to ensure the safety of both passengers and cargo.





Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary school is required.


LANGUAGE: Limited knowledge in speaking/reading/writing of English is required. (this will be tested).

Fluent in speaking/reading/writing of Arabic is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Ability to operate armored vehicles as evidenced by possession of at least a Second Class driver’s license and a road test conducted by the Motor Pool Supervisor.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Cairo, Egypt may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
