Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Colombo, Sri Lanka is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Management Rover in Management Section.


The work schedule for these positions: may be full time, part time, or “when actually employed” (WAE). Work schedule will be determined based on mission needs and applicant availability.

Require to visit embassy housing when necessary.

Duties

Basic Function of Position: As assigned by the management officer, serve as backup to office managers and secretaries in various sections of the embassy. Escort maintenance and repair crews in Controlled Access Areas (CAAs), Limited Access Areas (LAAs), and embassy housing. Complete special projects such as surveys, data analysis, research regulations, drafting policies and notices, planning events, organizing project teams. Support VIP visit logistics. Must be a U. S. Citizen, eligible for a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

Experience: One year of general work experience required.


Skills and Abilities:



  1. Computer literacy, including use of MS Office applications and basic typing.

  2. Duties include prolonged periods of standing/walking and somewhat physically demanding activities to include climbing, working in cramped spaces and at times working in inclement weather.

  3. Should be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required. [Candidate must attach relevant educational certificate].


 

Evaluations:

Level III (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required. This may be tested.


 

Qualifications:

All applicants under consideration will be U. S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) of Current Employees of the Mission (All Agencies) and should meet minimum educational and working experience.

  1. Management may consider the following when determining successful candidacy: nepotism, conflicts of interest, budget, and residency status.

  2. Current OR employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. Current OR employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report (EPR) are not eligible to apply.

  3. Current NOR employees hired on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Personal Service Agreement (PSA) are not eligible to apply within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless they have a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
