The U.S. Mission in Dhahran KSA is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Carpenter in the facilities Section. This position is open for nationals and residents of Saudi Arabia Only. The work schedule for this position is:

  • Full Time (40 number of hours per week)

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Basic Function of the Position –

Incumbent performs work within the Consulate and residences, involved in preventative maintenance, quality control, and office/residential renovations. Functions as a carpenter at the journeyman level. Assists other trades with secondary support for multi-person requirements and maintains work areas. May direct the work of trades helper and casual laborers. This work involves light lifting (less than 15 kg) and requires the use of safe working practices. May drive Facilities-owned vehicles.

Qualifications and Evaluations


Required three (3) years of journeyman skills or training in carpentry.

Must have full knowledge of established practices, procedures, safety requirements and tools.


Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required.



LANGUAGE: English Level II. Arabic  level III (Good working Knowledge) Written/Speaking/Reading. Skills will be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Must be able to use all hand and calibrated tools and equipment related to the job. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, and read blueprints. Must have a valid driver license.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Dhahran Saudi Arabia may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
