Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Cairo/Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Storekeeper.


The work schedule for this position is: Full-time 40 hours/week.


Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties

Under the supervision of the Furnishings Specialist, the incumbent works as a Storekeeper in the furnishings section of the General Services Office Supply and Property Management (GSO/SPM). S/he is in charge of the stockroom for hospitality kit supplies and its items; prepares, issues and collects kits as requested. Maintains storage of  Hospitality Kit expendable and non-expendable items, tracks daily use of the items, and optimizes the use of available space. Performs periodic inventory and verifies the quantity, quality and functionality of all items.

Experience:


Two years of supply related experience is required.


Job Knowledge:


Good knowledge of storekeeping and supply principles. 

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required.

Language:


Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Writing of English is required. (This will be tested.)


Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Writing of Arabic. 


Skills and Abilities:


Ability to work independently. Good aptitude for organizing and prioritizing delivery schedules and other work. Must be flexible, tactful, calm and courteous in his/ her contact with Mission personnel. Must be able to work under pressure and maintain a commitment to service. Must be reliable and able to follow up on tasking through completion. Able to lift and move hospitality kit shipping boxes to/from storage rooms. (This may be tested)

 For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
