Summary:

The U.S. Mission in Rio de Janeiro is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a position of Work Control Clerk in the Facility Management.


The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).

Duties

Basic Function of the Position – Acts as the primary point of contact for all routine and preventive maintenance work orders and requests for services. Coordinates all work between requester, mission staff, responsible maintenance shops, service contractors and vendors. Generates daily status reports for the Facility Manager on Work Order progress. Works with the Facility Manager to establish work scheduling and priorities. In the absence of the office manager, performs administrative duties as the primary back up.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Progress work experience with a focus on customer service is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have general computer literacy.

Education Requirements:

  • Completion of secondary school is required.

Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing of Portuguese is required.


Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English is required. 


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use Microsoft Office software is required. (This may be tested).

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
