The U.S. Mission in Cairo, Egypt is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of HR Assistant (Global Employment Advisor).


Final grade/step will be determined by Washington.

The work schedule for this position is: Full-Time 40 Hours/week.

The incumbent serves as the sole Global Employment Advisor (GEA) for the U.S. Mission to Egypt and performs human resources functions, including supporting the Family Member Appointment (FMA) program and administrating the State U.S. direct hire (USDH) Employee Evaluation Report (EER) program. The GEA provides one-on-one assistance, counseling, training, and coaching to the family members of USDH employees exploring employment options.  Works closely with Post management, including the Executive Office, and Community Liaison Office (CLO) to achieve GEA objectives.  Serves as an advocate for family members both inside and outside the Mission.  Reports directly to the Senior Human Resources Officer (SHRO). Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE: 2 years' experience in recruiting, career counseling, company outreach, developmental work, or related social services field.

Plus, 1-2 years in an administrative support, general office, HR or related environment.

Education Requirements:

Minimum four-year college degree, or equivalent, in business, counseling, education, or related field.


Language Proficiency: English level IV (fluent) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required. This may be tested.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as Internet and email groups is required.
