The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 number of hours per week)

Position's primary duties are in the areas of American personnel administration. Position also assists the Human Resources Officer (HRO) with special projects as assigned. Services performed for all agencies at post. No supervisory responsibilities.                                                                                                                       

Qualifications and Evaluations


EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources or administration is required.  

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Extensive knowledge of fundamental human resources management laws, policies, and practices.  Excellent knowledge of applicable State and agencies' regulations and Local employment laws is required.


Education Requirements:

Completion of two (2) years of college/university of post secondary education is required,


LANGUAGE:  Level 4 (fluent) of English (reading/writing/speaking). This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to advise on and resolve moderately complex issues; make informed judgment on problem areas and issues; ability to analyze and interpret basic issues of fact and law; select and apply appropriate provisions for each case; oral and written communication skills sufficient to formulate and present arguments and advisory opinions.  Excellent computer skills; ability to prepare complex tables and graphs. Tact and diplomacy in dealing with employees. Ability to prioritize work to meet different requests and deadlines is required.  A Secret Security Clearance is required.

Agency Benefits:

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Maputo/Mozambique may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
