Duties

Basic Function of the Position – Serves as the Facilities office Architect, responsible for providing professional Architectural services in the planning, design, construction, cost estimating, inspection and the implementation of assigned projects for all Consulate properties in Frankfurt. The incumbent will be directly responsible to the Engineer (FAC) Operations. H/She will capable of working independently.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: Must have three years of progressive experience in design and construction management and at least one year of project management experience is required.


JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have thorough knowledge of current generation of Autocad software. Must have a thorough knowledge of architectural and construction engineering theories and practices; thorough understanding of relevant local building codes and standards as well as familiarity of US standards and codes. He/she must have a good general knowledge of how to supervise others and to inspect for quality and adequacy of the work. S/he must be thoroughly familiar with all the German trade practices, codes and regulations applying to the trades.


 

Education Requirements:

Completion of Secondary School (Mittlere Reife) and completion of an accredited masters degree in Architecture is required.


 

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: English Level IV (fluent), German Level IV (fluent) are required. Must be able to translate technical specifications.


SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Advanced knowledge of Autocad, MS Project, MS Office suite, and general computer skills, including the use of large plotters is required. He/she must be physically able to carry out the full range of duties without supervision. Must be able to draw freehand sketches if necessary to explain ideas and details.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.


The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
