The Tri-Missions Vienna are seeking eligible and qualified applicants for position of Shipment Assistant. 
The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

Basic Function:

The incumbent of this position in the Customs/Shipping/Transportation Unit is responsible for the processing of all incoming and outgoing military shipments. Keeps abreast with the continually changing Department of Defense shipping regulations and maintains the proper documentation. In the absence of the Shipment Supervisor and/or the Transportation Assistant, the incumbent substitutes for these functions. Handles in and outbound shipments and/or several areas of the Transportation Section. Arranges customs clearance and delivery of all other agencies’ incoming shipments, such as Unaccompanied Baggage (UAB), Household Effects (HHE), Privately Owned Vehicles (POV) and official shipments.


Qualifications and Evaluations



Minimum 2 years previous experience in administrative work is required.


Knowledge of Austrian/EU customs regulations.

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school (high school) is required.



Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing of English. This may be tested.

Level 4 (Fluency) Speaking/Reading/Writing of German. This may be tested.


Succesful candidate must be tactful, yet effective in dealing with Austrian officials and various Ministry officials.

Must be able to use computer, word and data processing equipment.

Must hold Austrian driver’s license (B).

Agency Benefits:

For Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), locally-resident EFMs, working at the Tri-Missions Vienna, compensation also consists of the prorated 13th and 14th month payment in addition to the Euro salary above. The compensation package will include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
