Summary:

The Tri-Missions Vienna are seeking eligible and qualified applicants for position of Lead Buildings Technician.

Duties

The incumbent reports to the Facility Manager and his supervisor (Engineer). The incumbent is employed as a journeyman level Electrical and Building Technician to carry out highly skilled maintenance and repair work throughout the Embassy compound on critical and non-critical electrical and building components within the functional/office buildings, above and below ground infrastructures.


The Lead Building Technician is responsible for managing and directing the activities of all technicians and custodians under his direction and is expected to exercise considerable initiative and independent judgment to ensure that the quality and quantity of work performed is in compliance with applicable safety standards and operating policies.

EXPERIENCE:



A minimum of five (5) years’ experience working at the journey-level in the installation, repair, and maintenance of commercial building electrical systems and building technology systems. This should include a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience. Must have a career path that demonstrates increased levels of responsibility working on complex equipment and building systems. 



JOB KNOWLEDGE:


- The incumbent must have a broad and strong knowledge in the fields of building technology.


- The incumbent must know how to diagnose the root cause of a maintenance problem.


- Must know how to work safely on electrical components.


 

Education Requirements:

Completion of secondary school is required. Successful completion of specialized vocational training program recognized as producing journeyman level electrician and mechanical system specialist trained in the maintenance of commercial or industrial buildings/facilities is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 


- The incumbent must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, operations and maintenance manuals.


- Ability to respond to emergency situations in an efficient and timely manner to effect immediate repairs is required.

Qualifications:

All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and local security certifications and complete a mandatory probationary period for LE Staff.

For Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), locally-resident EFMs, working at the Tri-Missions Vienna, compensation also consists of the prorated 13th and 14th month payment in addition to the Euro salary above.  The compensation package will include health, separation, and other benefits. Hiring salary (within above pay grade) will be based on experience and background. 


For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
